About Us... The Baltic Bazaar Thrift began as an idea to provide work and/or training for individuals re-entering the work force through a shop sustained by donations. In 1992, the idea became a reality and a business, run out of the 3rd floor office at Baltic Street AEH, took flight with its first donation of fabric. Now located at 141 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, the store has blossomed. The shop features vintage clothing, accessories, collectibles and some furniture; as well as a huge selection of fine fabrics, some of which are donated by top manufacturers in the country. Witty and stylish display windows are changed weekly to reflect the unique treasure trove of merchandise on sale. Individuals and companies passionate about aiding people recovering from mental illness supply these treasures. Because of their support, and assistance from the NYS Office of Mental Health, our original idea has been fulfilled. We offer the opportunity to develop vocational skills in a retail environment. On completion of the program, our clients have a solid base for success in the commercial world.
